It’s been three years since I took a guitar down to
the Rose City for any sort of published appearance, so to make up for lost time
I’m dragging the Full Band with me this Saturday (5/7) for a date at Alberta
Street Pub in NE Portland. <skip to
calendar> Our own Alicia Healey will open the evening with
a set of her own, and I can’t promise she won’t drag a few of us on-stage with
her along the way. Hope to see you out!
I’ll take aim next at the Tri-Cities, where I’ll
bide time before the Tumbleweed Festival
with an indoor set for Three Rivers Folklife Society at its usual
spot in Pasco, WA (5/21)—details
below.
Scurrying right back to Seattle, one could also
find me at the next Bushwick Book Club
show (5/22 @ Chop Suey), always a hoot and featuring
Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard P. Feynman’s memoir Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman (Adventures of a Curious Character)
this round. Video of past performances
keep popping up here (I made
a WW playlist here—March’s
Shel Silverstein clips are definitely worth the peek), while
I’m keeping MP3s of many of the songs in the Music section of www.wesweddell.com.
Then the Northwest Folklife Festival
is upon us Memorial Day weekend, and I’ll join Reilly & Maloney for their
special Folklife-turns-40! performance Saturday (5/28), play a set of my own Sunday (5/29), and host Emerald City Songwriter Circles both Saturday/Sunday.
And I’m very pleased to announce that this week I
delivered my original choral work, “Sing to Me,” to the Ad Astra Choir at Lindbergh High School (conducted
by bandmate Brian Hoskins) in
As a gracious DJ once said to me: “Keep on
with your part, and I'll keep on with mine!”
